I came here to write a note of thanks and encouragement. While I’ve long touted how awesome Benito’s Chipotle Maple Syrup is on Pork Rinds, it wasn’t until tonight that I decided to savor the last drop by “rinsing” the bottle with Bourbon and then making an Old Fashioned. Perhaps this is nothing novel, as the first thing I saw on this sight is now a Bourbon Barrel Aged Chipotle Maple Syrup (touche you innovative son’s o’ guns), but it was an original thought for me. And, it was a revelation. A fantastic cocktail. So inspiring that I decided to write this review at One in the Morning. Just the right amount of buzzed, not driving anywhere, responsibly consumed, and nostalgic for our annual trip to beautiful Vermont.
Best hot sauce ever!! I eat the Coy Dog on chips and don’t stop until I can light a smoke without a match! Yum!!
Where do you live Eric? It will be for sale on this website by July 1st.
I am looking for the Bloodroot Mountain Straight Up Ghost hot sauce. Where can I find it?
I don’t see the serrano hot garlic sauce and I really loved it can I order more?
So sad to hear you are no longer doing the rubs!!! The cayenne cinnamon was out of this world! I have been hounding my husband to get me more forever and didn’t believe him when he said he couldn’t find it. I hope you reconsider 🙂
I wish you’d publish recipes!
Do you still bottle/sell the butternut squash hot sauce? Best sauce I’ve ever had. Thanks!
Hi Missy,
I am sorry but we discontinued the rubs a few years back. My apologies. – Ol’ Benito
Do you still make the BBQ rubs that are so delicious? I have purchased the cayenne cinnamon and the chipotle in the past and thought they were the best ever. We are down to our last jar of the VT Maple Cayenne Cinnamon rub and wanted to buy some more but didn’t see them on your website. Please tell us that you still make them!
What are the scoville ratings for each sauce? Especially wondering about the Straight Up Ghost, it’s our go to for the last few months.
Hi,
I just ran out of the Joe’s #1 Jalatillo hot sauce. I live in South Burlington and would like to know if you have this produce in any stores in Chittenden County. Great sauce by the way. Goes well with dumplings too.
Thanks,
Paul
Do you accept visa card over the phone for payment?
I LOVE Benito’s Habanero Infused Maple Syrup. I found it at a beer festival and have been reordering it every time I run out. I got my sister hooked, as well!
OMG, habanero syrup is so delicious!! I’m glad it can be ordered here!
I would love to rock a Benito’s hoodie or zip up. Any chance of that coming out? This is my favorite hot sauce company!
We first became addicted to to your products at the farmer’s market in Burlington, VT. When we ran out, we tried to satisfy ourselves with other hot sauces (both from stores and other markets), but nothing was as good (local tang is our favorite). So though we live all the way in Georgia, we will be ordering all of our hot sauce (and maple syrup) from here. Nothing compares once you’ve had Benito’s. Period.
I’m glad to say that Ol’ Benito is STILL rocking after all these years! It was nearly a decade ago that I tasted his Original Naranja sauce, and Benito has come out with one hit after another. The Original Naranja is in my Top 20 favorite hot sauces, and Benito’s is one of my Top 10 sauce makers of all time. I truly believe that Benito deserves to be company on the level of a McIlhenny (Tabasco) or a Huy Fong Foods (Sriracha).
Keep up the excellent work, and stay spicy!!
I would love to purchase the Carolina Reeper sauce that you make and offer. How do I purchase this? Your maple infused habanero souse and I was just amazing. Great flavor and heat. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
I just found out about your sauces yesterday at the Whole Foods in Portland, Maine. Great taste and flavor. Interesting that you originally started in Montclair, NJ. I was living there at that time. I look forward to trying all your sauces.
So great!!! I came across the company at a beer festival in queens. On the way out I ran into the triple length tables of delicious sauces. Form chip dips to additions to food dishes these sauces are a perfect addition for flavor and heat.
P.S. breakfast has not been the same since I’ve had Benito’s infused maple syrups.

Bought your white hot when I was in Vermont at the killington reggae festival and it is the best
Fell in love with Benitos at the VT Brewers Fest many years ago and we continue to buy and use them on the regular! Awesome freshness! Certainly my favorite hot sauces! We love using all of them down here in RI! Great flavor and nice heat in the hotter varieties! They are a staple in our fridge! Keep making some great sauces!
Poto Rojo is great along with Old Coy Dog. Those two keep the heat and flavor rolling! But the others are fantastic too!
Phew! The Bangor State Fair…That was the only public event we ever did in the great state of Maine!
Sweet! Glad you enjoyed our sauces!
I have had and love your sauces. I met you at the fair in Maine and sampled your fantastic sauces. I brought a few into work to share and people still ask me what those sauces were many years later. Love your stuff!!
The White Hot tastes like McDonalds chicken nuggets but without all the crap and its really got the right amount of spice. This company is becoming my favorite hot sauce. Perfect variety!
Your hot sauces are great–have you thought about thinning them down a little so the sauce would come out thick but not in chunks.
When the bottle is down about an inch I thin with a bit of water and tomato sauce takes only a couple of tea spoons and doesn’t affect the flavor or heat.
we need more pepper jelly in our lives! PLEASE for the love of all that is jammy with a kick, consider adding it as a limited edition product on your website. we picked some up at the craft beer festival on long island and fell in love. had we known it was only available for distribution at events, we would have picked up several! 🙁 HALP
A huge fan of Benitos since trying some sauces at Beer Conn in CT! I bought a few things as well as the Habanero Mango Jam and I can’t seem to find it on your page. I would love to buy more jam, it is perfect!
Just wanted to let you know we recently got married and went to New Hope PA for our honeymoon. We visited Glenn at Suzie’s Hot Shoppe. So many sauces and didn’t know what to choose. When we asked for a nice hot mustard sauce, Glenn immediately suggested yours (White Hot). He described the flavors and palette reaction to the letter. It is very possibly the best hot mustard sauce we’ve ever had. Never would have known had it not been for Glenn. We’d gladly buy any of your other products that he would choose to stock on his shelves.
Thanks

Just received my first shipment–really fast!!–and tested every item in the ultimate gift pack as soon as it arrived. Everything was great, the neighbors liked them too. I’ll be using them at a BBQ this weekend and will order more next week. I’ll be letting all my friends know how great they taste!
We got some of your Chipotle Infused Maple Syrup when we went to Jay’s Peak, Vermont for a wedding last July. It was so unusual and delicious! I drizzle it over brussel sprouts and roast them. They are our family’s new favorite vegetable. Delish!!! I need to order some more…
Candied Hot Pecans made with Benito’s Habanero Infused Maple Syrup
These nuts are off the hook! The recipe makes 1 cup
1 Tbsp. butter
1 cup pecan halves
2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
Generous pinch each of:
ground cinnamon
paprika
cayenne pepper
kosher salt
1 tsp of honey and 1 to 2 tsp of Benito’s Habanero Infused Maple Syrup.
You can adjust the ratio for more or less heat.
Melt butter in a small sauce pan over medium heat. Add the pecans and sugar. Sprinkle in the spices
and salt. Toss the pecans to coat them well with the butter, and cook until they start turning brown and
shiny, about 5 minutes.
Remove pan from heat. Wait 30 seconds, then add the habanero infused maple syrup, tossing well to coat the pecans. Spread
on a plate and cool.
Just received some Benito’s Chipotle Maple Syrup… in Cameroon, Africa, from my mom in Vermont. I’m having a hard time thinking of something that tastes more like home. Lathering it on some dried Boar’s Head salami (also in the package) and three sunny-side eggs made for one of the best meals I’ve had since I got here. Really can’t even tell you how much I appreciate that. All the best! – Andrew
I cross the Border just to get Benitos – Hot Hot Hot and VERY TASTY!
Benitos sauces are exceptional, my favorites are Mango Habanero and Joes 1 Jalapa. I discovered these fabulous sauces when I visited Vermont a few years ago. Go Benito!!!
my daughter turned me on to your habanero maple flavored hot sauce, let me tell you this by far the best I have ever tasted, I shared it a work and I think you have a market of fans up here in the NEK. PLEASE TELL ME MORE 🙂
Hey Benito! How do I get some “Liquid Lou” in a bottle? You guys are pretty close to me – let’s come up with a high octane sauce that we can market at my races – I think that would be awesome!
I just posted on your facebook page – lets talk soon!
Benito,
Your sauces are outstanding, anyone can make a hot sauce, you make your’s with true, distinct flavors! The care you put in comes out in the taste! Bravo Benito, Bravo!!
Benito’s Hot Sauce is THE GREATEST!!
Benitos is the best! Just had some Naranja on my crepe as Skinny Pancake and have an Ol Coy Dog at home to be opened soon.
I’ve used your Hot Sauces sprinkled on sea foods and grilled meats. THEY ARE GREAT!!!!!!!!!!
The original naranja is delish!
LOVE LOVE LOVE these hot sauces! Old Bricktucky is my favorite!!
Benito’s Hotsauce gets my vote! Ben supports local organic farmers, like myself, by purchasing many ingredients at the local level. Yay Vermont Agriculture! Yay local responsible business practices!
Benito’s Hot Sauce made my hair grow back!
Original Naranja on my eggs is how I start the morning!
Just wanted to pop in and say that I am loving your hot sauces! Benito’s Original Naranja & Old Bricktucky are my favorites by far. Do you make any bigger bottles 😉
Three words… OLD COY DOG!!! The best hot sauce I have ever had!! Hands down.
CAUTION: for pepper heads only 🙂
I just wanted to say that my husband and I stumbled upon your table at a farmers market in Burlington, VT this past weekend… We tried every sauce you had on display before purchasing the Mango Habanero. I am sad to report that our bottle is almost empty. Your sauces are quite delicious and we can’t get enough. We’ve been putting it on eggs, salads, you name it. Are you in any stores near the Connecticut River? We’re not from VT…
Hi I just placed an order for 3 sauces I want 3 Mango Habanero sauces please. Thanks
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for your interest. Wholesale pricing is $4 a bottle plus shipping. Where are you located? Hope to hear from you soon. -Ol’ Benito
I would really like to see about getting some samples. I have heard great things but have not had the opportunity to try any of them. I would also like to get some wholesale pricing and see if I could use this at my Grill. Let me if you would be interested in this.
Lisa
Good Morning; I am interested in being your exclusive distributor for the Arabian Gulf; please send me an email to see if we can do business.
Best Regards, John A. Cooper
Your sauce is AWESOME!!! I have told my friends about it.
Hey, Need some more of that Mango Habanero sauce but do not see it listed. Do you still make it? My wife goes crazy for that shit. Need more so I can get some….
Tried the sauce recently at the Meadowlands Expo in NJ, and I was hooked! Going to have to drive up to Vermont and buy a boxload.
Hey, I also have to tell you that I received the previous order with a sampler of all your products. I must tell you that you are a true talent. So many “hot sauces” totally ignore flavor and quality in favor of heat. Your sauces are so absolutely flavorful I can’t begin to tell you . . . so fabulous! When I just happened to buy one bottle at Smugglers Notch last year, I had no idea I would be giving-up all the others for your sauces!
My boyfriend and I LOVE your hot sauce. I never even liked hot sauce, but I am now hooked. Keep it up!
Can you start carrying in Mass?
I also just ordered for shipping, but no way to specify my choose three for the pack. I don’t see a way to contact you directly. Let me what to do.
Thanks for your support David! I just shipped your maple gift pack order today! I would recommend that you either use the ghost flakes in chili or a few flakes to saute asparagus or a piece of chicken. As I’m sure you know already, use sparingly. One jar will spice up a whole 3 to 4 gallon pot of chili quite nicely. Stay well. – Ol’ Benito
Got some of your mango sauce at the Smuggler’s Notch fair last summer and use it on fish as well as eggs. I ordered all your other products and am gradually trying them all. How would you recommend I use the Bhut flakes? The research I did online is a bit, well, scary . . . even for a hot sauce lover like me. Thanks for great products. I wish you great success.
Hello!

Hey, We bought Benito’s Old Coy Dog at the Burlington Farmers Market two Saturdays ago…We went through the whole bottle in a week. We went to the Farmer’s Market just to buy more. We love it. I went on line to find where we can buy it. I work in Essex and will be stopping tomorrow to pick some up at the 5 Corner Beverage place. Yum! – Deborah Deen – Burlington,VT
You have to try the White Hot !!!! The best hot sauce I’ve ever tasted. Great flavor and fine heat. Benito’s does it right. In my neck of the woods, this can’t be beat. Add a few drops to a shrimp and lobster stir fry and you’ll be on cloud nine. Benito’s, good folks, great products. -Dave Crosby- Milford, ME
I’m loving that Old Bricktucky Cayenne…I first had it at the Northfield Farmer’s Market this past June. Just moved to Tennessee and I’m in need of some more for slow roastin!!!!
Hey Jason,
Sorry, but the Old Coy Dog is a seasonal. I will have more in November after the harvest. Thanks for your interest. – Ol’ Benito
Hey Mike,
You can roast them, puree them, dry and crush them…it’s all up to you. Depends on what you are into. – Ol’ Benito
Dude tried these hot sauces at a fair man they are the best hot sauces i have tried in a long time
I wanna Make Hot sauce out of Cayenne witch is the Best way … i know you know Mick Vez The Town Of Cary,NC
I bought some of your Old Coy Dog sauce at the brew fest. How can I go about ordering more? I didn’t see it on the site?
The Old Bricktucky Cayenne tastes like Christmas! – Melissa. Washington Township, NJ
I am really happy that you got your sauce down to the co-op in Montpelier but now I moved and you got to find a place closer to Bradford so I can keep up on the sauces. Thanks for the great stuff man there is no better.
Damn this coy dog sauce is quite hot. I’m diggin it… Hot sauce shots? I’m so there next time!!!
Great stuff – the onion/garlic base of the White Hot makes it about as good on eggs as any hot sauce I’ve had. It’s a great base in general – not too thin, not too thick. Ordered three more bottles today!
I saw those guys take shots of your hot sauce at the Mt. Snow brewers’ fest last month, what a riot! You were right, Joe’s #1 Jalapa does have an unmistakable earthy cilantro lime flavor. I feel as though it is superior to any green sauce I have ever tasted. I can tell you must make it in small batches! I told you I would give you an online shot out! Nice work Ol’ Benito!
Tried Benitos at the beer fest at Killington – this is the only hot sauce I eat since it has heat AND flavor. I love the mango on homemade tacos and the carrot I add to creamy tomato soup, it gives it a really nice flavor with heat….sooo good!
I’m going to have to re-stock soon!
They can be. If so they will last for 18 months. If not they will last for about 8 to 10 months. Enjoy. – Ol’ Benito
Do the hot-sauces need to be refrigerated after opening?
Detroit-style Coney Island hot dogs FTW!
I am a consumer of hot sauce as well as a collector and I have a question – if I order 2 of each of your sauces would you be so kind as to sign one each of them for me? The signed bottles would go on my wall in my collection and the unsigned of course would be for consumption – Thanks, Mark
All of the sauces on the website contain zero sodium. I use absolutely no pepper mash of any kind. I just use fresh vegetables, organic chili peppers and organic lime juice. Hope all is well. – Ol’ Benito
I was told your sauces are low sodium, are they? Do you use mash with added salt?
Good luck Ben! The Website is Great! Thanks foe using Joe’s picture!
We’ll be making an order soon! Joe & Mary Ann Del Guercio!!

Hey Clark,
All of the sauces are vegetable not vinegar based. My personal favorite is the Naranja. Not too sweet with just the right tang and full of fresh vegetable flavor. Stay well. – Ol’ Benito
Hello,
I am looking for a “Mexican Style” Hot sauce. I believe I live Cheyenne peppers the best. I like the traditional Red hot sauces that you find at taco shops.
I like the style of chalula and tapatio but its not hot enough and not enough flavor. Too much vinegar. What do you recommend? Thanks!
Had some of your Naranja at the Tonkery street fair in Jamesburg a few years back. Killer Stuff! I think I have yet to encounter a sauce with as much flavor as Benito’s Original!!! See you will be at the Philly Craft Brewfest in March. Already got my tix!!!!!- James Shaughnessy – Pike County, PA
Hi, We spoke on the phone a couple of weeks ago about your gift pack. I have put in a order but there was no place to leave this message. So what I need is 4 bottles of the Mango Habanero and 1 Old Brick. Please let me know if there is any problem with this order I would like to put them in my wife’s stocking.
Thanks,
John
I would like to order 3 mango 1 joe’s and 1 old brick. Can I do a 5 pack that way and are they 5oz. bottles
Ben,
I got the Bhut!!!!!!! You da man!!!!!!!!!!
Now —- any suggestions on how I use them without killing people?
Thanks for getting them to me. Looking forward to using them.

Hi Ben:
We met at Smuggler’s Notch at the end of August. I just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how much I enjoy your hot sauce at home in Maplewood, NJ. I bought Joe’s #1, really like the product and will share it with others.
I wanted to invite you to check out my work http://www.TheConsciousPlate.com where you can get a free copy of my Conscious Plate Guide: 3 Recipes For Every Lover of Food. I welcome your thoughts.
All the best,
Randy
Got a bottle of white hot, By far one of the best I’ve ever had, definatly gonna get more. Keep up the great stuff.
hey there,
I picked up a bottle from the bolton fair in MA about a week ago! Damn! This is this best, addictive hot sauce I’ve ever had. I put it on everything, freakin delicious. It’s not so hot that it’s impossible to taste food, but has enough kick to satisfy the pain factor. I’m ordering more soon. I thought the bottle would last me a week, it was gone in 2 days!
Thanks for the samples at the fair too, the whole range of bottles was amazing. I’m gonna get all of them.
-Tim..Framingham, MASS
we recetly met although briefly at the bolton fair
and for me your booth was the highlite of my day i tried your mild sauce and must say i was really impressed with your cander and the information you willingly shared
so please let me know when you are ready with the ghost peppers jon smith – Bolton, MA
Hey, Benito! I’m not sure if you remember me or not: this is that long-haired guy from the Bolton Fair on Friday night. Anyway, upon getting home, I immediately broke open the bottle of “that quintessential green” I purchased and gave it a few necessary tastings on some chips, and I must say, I am impressed! The lime juice as a base gives it a unique, tangy, powerful flavor right from the instant it hits your tongue, and I like the addition of the habaneros for an extra kick not present in most green sauces. No salt or preservatives just makes the deal even sweeter. Thanks for the great sauce, and keep doing what you do! – E. Zappa (Bolton, Mass)
I have been looking for a really good hot sauce for a long time and finally found it, the benito’s naranja is SO GOOD. And its actually pretty spicy, which is hard to find in NE
the white hot is the very best I have ever tasted love love love it will order more when this is gone.
If you want hot buy tabasco if you want the best buy BENITO’S. Best hot sauce I have ever had keep up the great work! HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE BANGOR STATE FAIR NEXT YEAR!
HAYNESVILLE ME
My friend and i finished all your hot sauce the first night we had it, dude that stuff was GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!! keep making amazing hot sauce and i hope i can see you next year at the Bangor State Fair.
Brewer,ME
Hello,
I am starting a new farmer’s market in Colchester and am trying to contact you with information. I received your name through the Burlington Farmer’s Marekt, but the e-mail address on the application doesn’t seem to work. Please let me know if you have any interest.
Thank you,
Tracey
I recently purchased your hot sauces at the Smuggs market. Later in the evening we tried your Mango hot sauce. What a dream. I have tried many hot sauces and love trying new ones. This one definitely rates as the best “medium” heat sauce I have tried… Looking forward to buying more to stock my home pantry!
Haha. I’m disappointed in myself for forgetting to pick up a few cases when I had the chance to get them without shipping and handling. I have way too much salt and way too little veggies in my diet.
I don’t eat much but I started adding Bricktucky to my bloody mary’s, and I don’t think I’ll go back to drinking anything else. It even makes hanging out with Bobb Cobb tolerable.
Ol Bricktucky was a force of nature unchecked and absent from our existence up until the moment of it’s birth in the mind of Benito. Bravo!
My three favorite sauces are the Old Bricktucky Cayenne, Joe’s #1 Jalapa, and the Original Naranja. A few drops of the Naranja on my sandwich at lunch does me just right….thanks Benito!
Benito’s Naranja is the best hot sauce I have ever tasted! I just had some on some Tostitos Gold Tortilla chips. This sauce is truly the bomb!
I’m a man who likes heat. Benito’s Naranja definitely does it for me. I go through about half a dozen bottles a year. Damn good stuff!!!
This is the freshest tasting hot sauce I have ever had the pleasure of trying. We grilled up some fresh salmon the other day and used the benitos’ mango. My husband said it was the “most pleasant tasting piece of fish he had ever tried”. Next time we are in Vermont to visit family, we are taking a tour of Benito’s factory!!!
The Old Bricktucky Cayenne is by far the best hot sauce I have ever tried! It has a wonderful balance of cayenne peppers, red bell peppers, roma tomatoes and cinnamon.MMMMMMM!!!!!
This sauce is absolutely sensational. Being a vegan and someone who tries to avoid salt and saturated fat, this sauce is the perfect addition to all my meals.
Washed down a couple of JJ’s hot dogs with a bottle of White Hot with Mack a Ling Dong last weekend. It was a humbling experience to say the least!!! Thanks Ol Benito, Ling is after you.
Check out healeymade.com. Splash a lil Ray Liotta (Joe’s #1) on a burrito and feel the burn.
I am so happy that Benito’s is all natural and has organic ingredients. I love that young man next to the Ronald MacDonald, Sideshow Bob look alike. Is he single? I hope we can enjoy a bottle of naranja and plate of nachos. Cheers!
This hot sauce is the biggity bomb. I think everyone should rock a bottle. Luke from the river.
Do you ship your sauce to South America…??
I would love to have a bottle of the Bricktucky Cayenne.
Benito’s hot sauce is just like his music. No nonsense and it hits you hard straight in the guttuckey!
Benito, can’t wait to try your hot sauce, found your site obviously, had a great time with you last night. Please keep in touch, we need to plan a camping trip.
This stuff is delicious! just what the doctor ordered. I drink it straight. The hot sauce industry has a new heavy-hitter that may very well single-handedly stave off this recession! If Benito ever needs a supply man in NYC, I’d be first in line! keep on cranking it out!!!
Ah just got my new order of naranja and ol bricktucky! My eggs have come alive again with the naranja and I cant wait for pizza friday night to throw on some ol brick!!
Thanks Ben!

My husband is a Benitos’ Mango Habanero- aholic. He puts it on everything! Soon he will just drink it from the bottle- no food needed. HA
Benito’s Naranja is unique because it is not like most sauces out there right now. It has a smooth citrus flavor, and the heat slowly creeps up on ya!
I love the Narnia and the straight up BRICKTUCK!
Joes First Jalapa is great!! I ordered the gift pack and wasn’t sure about this one. It was the last sauce I tried after I emptied the other hot sauce bottles.
It is superb. Not so hot and just a nice kick! Wheewww!!
The other hot sauces are great as well. The Ol bricktucky is great on pizza! Keep up the good work!
The Ol’ Bricktucky cayenne is absolutely sensational!
Benito’s Hot Sauce is very tasty. I’ve never been the typical super hot sauce guy. I love the Ol
Bricktucky Cayenne & the naranja. They have some excellent flavor, but won’t burn ya! I used the Naranja everymoring on my eggs. I throw it on them and it gives just the right flavor. I actually crave it on the way home from the gym. Fri night is pizza night and my house and I have been pouring the Ol’ Bricktucky Cayenne sauce on my pizza. I actually have enough sauce for one more night lol. Time to redorder! Great sauces benito, keep up the good work!
